48 hours

The writer, beneath the subject of his song....

The writer, beneath the subject of his song....

I think it must have been nearly 24 hours after I’d woken up in our apartment in Turre that I finally hit the stage with BC Sweet at a 70’s festival in Skegness on the East coast of England. Another 12 hours or so after that I was doing the rounds of Radio Stations and also meeting with various people at Pride Park, home of Derby County Football Club to discuss their involvement in my CD project. By 5.50 pm on Thursday, I’d been on the go for around 36 hours, with barely 4 hours of those dedicated to sleep, and I took to the airwaves on The Ross Fletcher Show on Radio Derby, hosted this week by Colin Bloomfield. You can still hear the show HERE. I come on around the end, when the timer says 1:48:22 and you can scroll through to that point.

Another 12 hours later, which included driving up to Yorkshire to visit my son, I was boarding a plane to take me back to Spain! An exhausting, but productive and rewarding trip. The release date for the CD is fast approaching, and I’m hoping to announce more in the coming days. In the meantime, enjoy another teaser clip from the album – a reworking of that traditional classic – what else but The Derby Ram!

  2. Kev,

I don’t think I’d survive 48 hours like this! It must become a blur after a while. But it all sounds exciting! Perhaps that’s the drug that keeps you moving at this pace. I hope all the Derby efforts pay off for you – I know you’ve been enjoying it and that it’s (one of) your passions. Usually this spells success of some sort!

  3. Hi Kev – finally back online and browsed this wonderful stuff you’ve put together. Glad the photo I took of you when we met briefly @ PPS last week before your Radio Derby interview has been useful, and I’m pleased to have played a small part in encouraging you on your journey to rock hero status in Derby!

Please put me down for one of the RedDog editions – well, as a record collector I’ll have to have a copy of each version!

  4. Susan: Thanks for the lovely compliment!
Bob: I think you’re right, it’s the adrenaline that gets me through it, and, hard work though it is, I AM enjoying it!
Dave: Red Dog edition will be earmarked mate, thanks for the pic and the help!
